Welcome to the 'About Me' page. Here I will tell you a little bit more about myself, how I started my business and what else I am up to.
Starting up my business
PoisonedArts is a company I started through my love of art and all things geeky, from comics and gaming, to sci-fi movies and fantasy books. I have also been a frequent guest at comic conventions for quite a while now!
For many years I had been thinking about starting a small business, being inspired by oher artists I see at conventions, and people pursuing their dreams. I had been doing some commissions, mostly for friends, but at that point that was really the extent of it.
It took me until the start of 2025 to really set the plan in motion, and in January of that year I got my business registered. Even after doing so, I had a hard time really getting started and gaining momentum. Being more inspired than ever now, I hope I can start seeing more progress in 2026, and maybe start the process of putting less hours into teaching and becoming an artist full-time.
Every item you see in my store was either handmade or designed by myself, and are all based on the things I enjoy most. I take pride in creating products that not only reflect geek culture but also offer something truly one-of-a-kind. As a small, one-person business, I truly appreciate every order and every customer. It’s more than just making a sale for me, it’s about connecting with fellow fans and sharing in the joy of our favorite things.
It all started with videogames
Back when I was a little girl I got my first Nintendo gameboy from my parents! Back then I mostly played very girly games like Winx Club (which is still amazing). Later when my brother tried to get me into World of Warcraft I had to think of a character name, that's how the name PoisonedCookie came about.
I have been using that name online ever since, and when I wanted to start my own Art business I knew I had to link it to my online 'persona' somehow. I named my business PoisonedArts partly because of my silly username, but also because of my interests in the dark and witchy.
Nowadays I still love videogames and I try to stream on Twitch a couple of times a week. I love a good indie game, but I also take playthrough requests over there.
